Example :
Dear Rosa,
I am a guy, twenty-eight years old. I have a problem with my girlfiend. She is twenty five years old. We have been dating each other for years, since we were high school studentss. Now we have jobs. I feel very sure that we love each other. Now it is time for me to get married. Unfortunately, her parents never approve of our relationship ever since the very first time. My family, anyhow, doesn’t really mind. At first I thought my girlfriend had the power to defend our love. But then she surrendered. She loves me, and she loves her family, too. On the one hand, she said, “I’ll be happy if my family is happy”. It means she had to get approval from her parents.
I was shocked because of her decision. My heart was broken. She ended our relationship just at the time when I was ready to marry her. When I was with her, we were very happy. We had a lot in common and there were no conflicts. The truth was, we separated only because of her parents. They want her to marry her cousin, her aunt’s son (this is one of the traditions in the Karonese)
For the time being I am very upset. When I miss her, I call her. Then we can eat together, talk together for hours. We feel elated because she loves me tto. The real problem is she cann’t refuse what her parents want.
Should I forget my girlfriend, the only one that I truly love? Or else, should I just wait, and dream that one day she will be back to me?
Rio, Padang
Dear Rio,
You call her your girlfriend, but she has chosen her own way. For this reason I’d say that there is nothing you can do except to forget her and go on with your normal life. Hopefully you can find another girl and live happily forever.

Dear Santi,
Thank for your letter. Going to Kepulauan Seribu for holiday sounds fun. Actually we wanted to go to Bidadari Island but something happened. On the night we were about to leave, our neighbor, Mrs. Rachma, called for help. She is in a wheelchair now.
When my mother and I went to her house, we were shocked. The house was very messy. Her maid just returned to her village and Mrs. Rachma’s ten year old twin daughters were too sick to clean the house. They also had high fever. So, my mother cooked and cleaned the house. I helped to give the girls their medicine. I wiped their bodies with wot towels. My father helped vacuum the house. The whole week was spent helping Mrs. Rachma and her family.
That was how I spent the school holidays. My parents said when someone needs our help, we have to help first. We can always go for a holiday some other time. It was a good experience. I’ll see you soon.

Thanky you for interesting letter and photo. You look reall;y smart in the scout uniform. Let me tell you about my extre-curricular activities.
In my school, there are also uniformed groups like your Girl Scout (we call it Girl Guides here), the Police Cadet Corps, the Army Cadet Corps and the Ambulance Brigade. In addition, we can join clubs and societies, and take part in sports activities.
I am very proud to be a member of the Police Cadet Corps (NPCC). We usually hold our parades on Saturday afternoons. Marching under the blazing sun is hard work. Dear Mavis:
Please accept my heartiest congratulations on your recent selection for inclusion on the short-list for the NY City Writers Prize.
I just heard the news today from Francis Good speed when she dropped into my office with the marked up proofs for her latest collection of stories. As you can imagine, Fran was very excited too!
I am so proud of you. As you know, I have been a longtime promoter of your work, and in my mind it's about time they finally recognized your talent. In fact, I believe that your selection for the NYCWP short-list is long overdue.
I have already read two of the other books that are short-listed and in my opinion they don't hold a candle to your "No Turning Back". I will read the other three books nominated and let you know what I think. Although, I could hardly be considered an objective reviewer on this one.
Once again Mavis, my sincere congratulations on your nomination. Just being nominated for the NYCWP is an honor in itself. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you until they announce the winner on March 1st.
Sincere best wishes,
Brad Merchant

Dear Riana,
Hi! How are you? We have not met each other for a long time. I really miss you.
Though I look forward to the festival season, I feel a tinge of sadness. Because you are not with me. Our childhood was the warmest. Remember how we first met at the canteen and then got to know each other? As buddies, we counted on each other for everything. We shared lunches, clothes, joy, and even grief. And remember how we studied in the fast food restaurant, spotting questions and sharing answers?
Of course, we had our share of quarrels. Why did we let matters like boyfriends come between us? Remember how we both felt head over heels in love with OSIS perfect? However, we soon made up when we realised that neither of us meant anything to our high and mighty hero.
Well, that’s all nice experience that I will never forget forever.

Before we mae the long trip back we decided to paddle our feet in the water for a while, and then sit down for a rest. While we were sitting on the beach, just chatting, it suddenly dawned on us both that all the way back we would be riding into the strong wind.
